In a significant change to AR , paragraph c, now codifies. I am in this situation .I'm a SPC and currently dating a SSG in my company and I 'm kind of having a big question mark on our relationship and on how we can live it to the fullest reason is because we are really into each other or should i say in love with each other its crazy but we come to the conclusion.
People like you and your "boyfriend" who disrupt the day to day operations of your unit and undermine good order and discipline. The gist of this offense is a violation of the custom of the armed forces against fraternization. Best method if the two of you intend to marry is for your boyfriend to advise the commander of his intention, and see if the CO wants to make any precautionary transfers.
I'm a SPC and currently dating a Source in my company and I'm kind of having a big question mark on our relationship and on how we can live it to the fullest I am in this situation To answer your question, probably not, it's better you wait and take the safer route than to rush into anything.
I say this because you are a SPC, and no offense, but you have almost nothing to lose, I imagine you haven't been in the Army all that long either judging by grammar alone again no offense so any adverse actions taken against you would be a minor bump in the road to an otherwise successful Army career. If for any reason it comes to light that he is fraternizing with a junior enlisted Soldier in the same company, at that, it could effect his NCOER adversly as well as his career.
You might be willing to take the risk, but why would you want to risk his successful career? Sure, you're in love, and he loves you and life is glorious when you're together, but I will tell you, I've been married for quite some time, and LOVE, doesn't keep the lights on, nor does it put food on the table. Use your head, not your heart, just wait till he's out of that unit and then tie the knot, better late than never. You're dating an idiot.
Like SGT T said, he is risking his career.
According to the MCM, the "elements of proof" for the offense of fraternization are: Your not to be blamed for having feelings for someone nor is your boyfriend, however you are to blame for acting upon them especially in this particular set of circumstances. If you really want to be involved with someone who knowingly breaks Army rules, then good luck. I highly recommend he or you try to transfer to another company before you date or "hang out" any more.
What kind of company are you in, anyway? Be Proud of what you do- and do it Well! The right thing to do is not to hide it.
As a Staff Sergeant, your boyfriend should know what is right and what is wrong. Accordingly if you wish to continue your relationship which knowingly may violate clear guidance by the military in regards to fraternization, the appropriate step is to request transfer for yourself or boyfriend to an adjacent unit so they are not directly in your leadership any longer. Yes it is "easier" to hide it until later. But is it the right answer?
When Does Friendship Become a Crime?
That is up to you. Is this a real post? The Army is not a place where you come to and fall in love. This is not college. You two undermine the readiness and good order and discipline of your unit.
Fraternization in the United States Military
The very things that your "boyfriend" has been charged to uphold. Your "boyfriend" should be training troops and leading by example, not falling in love. He's not being very professional, is he? Don't you guys have a life outside of the Army? What is the Army coming to? People like you and your "boyfriend" who disrupt the day to day operations of your unit and undermine good order and discipline.
One more thing, your boyfriend and now you, are knowingly breaking the rules. With that said, it doesn't mean you're the scum of the earth or that your boyfriend is single handedly responsible for the break down of good order and discipline. Like parra said, were not in the Army to fall in love, however we're not in the Army get shot either, but sometimes it happens. Your not to be blamed for having feelings for someone nor is your boyfriend, however you are to blame for acting upon them especially in this particular set of circumstances.
Let me get this straight: A SSG is knowingly involved in an inappropriate relationship, jeopardizing a military career and purposefully engaging in activity to hide his actions from his chain of command? Which part in the Creed of a Non-Commissioned Officer is he wiping his ass with? No one is more professional than I. If an individual, a soldier, especially a leader isn't able to follow basic rules in garrison, how can I expect them to do the right thing - ever? And for idiot, Snooki-wanna-be teeny bopper Army Regulation On Officer Hookup Enlisted your comment: Further, your comment of "can you tell me how u guyz did it I guess the bigger question is doing the wrong thing, in hopes of something that may or may not work - worth the "risk"?
Originally Army Regulation On Officer Hookup Enlisted by parra So long as this SSG is not in the same platoon, I really don't see a problem with the relationship unless it actually becomes a problem.
One of these soldiers should ideally be transferred, but so long as no discipline problems are reported, it's safe to let it be. Best method if the two of you intend to marry is for your boyfriend to advise the commander of his intention, and see if the CO wants to make any precautionary transfers.
This is a ten level task. The Army exists for one thing and one thing only and that is to fight the land war or deter read more. If your head isn't in the game, get out of the game. The Army is not like any other job and I could list about 10 reasons right off the top of my head, but the main one is "Your Soldiers are expected to accept the risk of death on the battlefield in order to accomplish the mission" And all of our efforts and focus should be to achieve those ends.
How is that like any other job? And then you have the issue of favoritism. If other joes in the unit catch wind of this "romance" it just starts building this decay in your unit that, once it starts spreading, its almost impossible to get rid of.
Its probably already there anyway. Standards get lower and lower, everybody starts developing the same mentality of "well, if thats okay, then this is okay, too. OK so now that you've Best Online To Get Laid blasted plenty enough- you have some tough decisions ahead of you.
